Our Pir-i-Tariqat's Library

Over the years, more than 1000 books have been purchased by His Eminence and are part of his own private collection. The library is situated on the third floor of the Sunni Razvi Academy. The library is unique in Mauritius as none can match the number of volumes of books on the life and teachings of Alahazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan Qadiri (may Allah sanctify his secret). A humble disciple has informed us that His Eminence has read all 1000 books; a good example for us to continuously seek knowledge.

His Eminence in his Library

We have to surrender from our illusions or opinions in order to be awake and receive knowledge and real knowledge is given and not acquired. Study is still important, because study opens us up to receiving knowledge and prepares for the moment of knowing, when real knowledge can be given.

The Commander of the Believers, Hazrat Imam Ali bin abi Talib (may Allah ennoble his face) said: "I have within me much knowledge. If I can find those who can carry it and who are its real people, I would not lock the door of secrets until its people come". Keep what you have secret, but if you are asked for it, disclose it. I cannot reveal all that I have, because some spiritual states should be kept secret.

The worldly outer knowledge of sciences, arts and skills are a shell for true inner knowledge. The beloved Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) encouraged knowledge and said that it is obligation upon every Muslim man and woman to seek knowledge. Ignorance is the principle cause of heedlessness, the blindness of ones heart to forget Almighty Allah and ones function, one purpose and ones promise to Him, while one is still in this world. One has to cleanse these veils of darkness and it is by acquiring knowledge by and by being in contact with the Masters of the Path and acting on it.

Shaikh Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jilani (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote that the beloved Prophet (Salla Allah ta'ala alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have said: "The person who acquires knowledge, puts it into practice and teaches others, will be called 'great' in the kingdom of heaven".

His Eminence has given us permission to publish the names of these books; names and authors of these books come directly from his diary written in Urdu. The translation of the titles into English is a task we are currently working on.
