Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri, Shaykh Sayyid Hasan Sanjari (may Allah be pleased with him) known in the Indo-Pak subcontinent as Gharib Nawaaz in praise of Shaykh Sayyiduna Muhiyiddin Ghawth al-Azam Huzoor Pir Nur Abu Muhammad Abdul Qadir Jilani al-Hasani al-Husayni (may Allah be pleased with him).
1. Yaa Ghawth-e-Mu`Azzem noor-e-Hudaa; Mukhtaar-e-Nabee Mukhtaar-e-Khudaa // Sultaan-e-Do'Alam Qutb-e-Ulaa Hayraan ze jalaalat ard-O-Samaa
2. Dar Sidq hama Siddeeq washee dar `adl O `adaalat chuu `umari // ay kaan e Hayaa uthmaan manshi maanind e `alee baa juud O sakhaa
3. dar bazm e nabee `aalee shaanee, sattaar e `uyuub e mureedaani // dar mulk e wilaayat sultaanee, ay manbay e fadl O juud O sakhaa
4. chuun paaye nabee shud taaj e sarat; taaj e hama `aalam shud qadamat // aqtaab e jahaan dar pesh e darat, uftaadah e chuu pash shaah O gadaa
5. kardaad maseeh ba murda rawaan, daadee tu ba deen e muhammad e jaan (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) // hama aalam muhiye deen goyaan, pur Husn O jaamalat gushta fidaa
1. O ye the Ghawth, thou art the light of guidance; the chosen one by Allah; the chosen one by Rasulallah sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam // The prince of the two worlds; an exalted Saint, the sky and the earth are in awe of thy grandeur.
2. In truth thou art like Hazrat Siddiq-e-Akbar [Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him)] and justice of thine is like Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) // Thy modesty, thy being demure is like Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and thou art like Hazrat Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in generosity [that is thou art the among the foremost leaders of the Ahlus Sunnah; I have read a very good meaning of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa-ah. it is said that following the Sunnah is following Rasulallah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam by jamaa-ah it means the jamaa-ah of these four blessed companions [radiyallahu anhum]
3. Thou hath a prominent standing in the presence of the Prophet alayhis salaam and thou art he who hides the sin of thy mureeds, followers (by seeking their pardon from Allah, doing istighfaar for them and inshaa Allah on judgment day, doing their shafaa'ah it is as good as hiding their sin); thou art the prince in the kingdom of Awlia, O ye the treasure of blessings and generosity!
4. As the foot of the Prophet is thy crown, thy foot is the crown of the world (remember the Shaykh said: qadami haadhihi ala raqabati li kulli waliyallah/this foot of mine is on the necks of Awlia?) // the high-ranking Awlia, the Aqtaab [pl. Qutb] come to thy door; and so do masters and so do the slaves!
5. Hazrat Maseeh alayhis salaam brought back the dead to life and [as his follower] thou art he who vitalized, resuscitated this religion of Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) // The world calls thee as Mohiy ad-Din - The Reviver of the religion; and they are enchanted by thy beauty! [One should note that here there are no parallels drawn with a Nabee; instead, there is a subtle idea expressed here: Hazrat Maseeh alayhis salaam is the one who shall revive the religion and he will be the last reviver of this religion. But by the virtue of his being a prophet he is greater than all the other revivers; yes, Hazrat Siddiq, Hazrat Farooq, Hazrat Uthmaan and Hazrat Ali [may Allah be pleased with them]were among the foremost revivers...wallahu a'alam]
